Stars & Stripes

Every girl and guy for that matter must have their fun with fashion around the 4th of July holiday, it’s a must that during this time you wear something festive. Over the years I’ve never been one to wear flags and such but this year is different. Considering that I am an advocate of thinking outside of the box and trying new things I decided to buy a pair of flag shoes…What kind you ask? Jeffrey Campbell of course. I got the flagged Damsel JC’s (EnviShoes)and I am more than excited about walking the streets of Baltimore in them (photos to come). In the spirit of the holiday I did a post on some of the hottest 4th of July trends.

We must not forget the meaning behind this amazing fun-filled holiday.  The 4th of July, is a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain.

So let’s celebrate this year’s 4th of July more fashionable than the last! AV

Peanut Butter Cups!

I posted this look on Instagram and got a lot of likes so I decided to blog about the look. The shoes are Jeffrey Campbell of course, around $160. This is actually my first pair of JC’s so they hold a very special place in my heart, they remind be of reese’s peanut butter cups but they’re actually named ‘Swing’. This particular pair is always fun to wear because they have so much character; suede, wooden heel, yellow and brown, lace up peep toe boot like platform. Usually my outfits start from the ground up so I chose a pair of simple distressed denims from American Eagle that I loved so much I bought two pairs, $50 a piece. My white ribbed tank I got from Target $5.99. The yellow sweater like blazer I purchased from Forever21 for about $15. Gold leopard earrings Forever21 $6.50. Gold medallion necklace thrift store $2. Matching Louis Vuitton bracelet & ring $460. Last but not least, Michael Kors watch, $275.

Everything you wear doesn’t have to cost a whole bunch of money but I do believe in investing in a few key pieces to bring your outfit together. This look was simple and sexy and the colors complemented my skin-tone well. I hope you like! AV

Fashion Awards Maryland

Today I purchased my ticket to the Fashion Awards of Maryland. This award show was created to recognize those throughout the state of Maryland for their contributions to one of the largest industries in the world…Fashion! The awards categories range from makeup,  modeling, media, photography, styling, designing and much more, not only to show gratitude to those who have paved the way but also to embrace those who are making a name for themselves in such a challenging and ever-changing industry. I am so excited to be in attendance tomorrow.

How cool is this story…I recently met a young woman by the name of Ashley Nyack who is a fashion designer and stylist at N’Mi Klozet here in Baltimore. We had been friends and followers of one another on all the social media networks but had never met in person. We immediately hit it off being that we share the same first name, are both Virgo’s, graduated from the same high school and most importantly share a passion for FASHION. She mentioned that she wanted to attend the award show and said she had no one to go with…Hmmm, me? So there you have it, she and I will be in the building experiencing such an awesome event with something fabulous on of course.

It’s not too late to buy your tickets! Purchase Tickets
