Oak & Abbey Accessories

A couple of weeks ago I visited this amazing pop-up shop that featured uniquely fabulous, well-made, & affordable accessories…Oak & Abbey! I was personally invited by O&A’s owner Melise to check out her collection. You all know how I pride myself on originality and these pieces are surely that. While there I also met a young woman by the name of Khalilah who owns a vintage clothing boutique (KWeb Kollects Vintage) and operates out of New York. She was visiting Baltimore with a variety of pieces from her collection for this pop-up shop event. Although I was there to take photos and get details for blogging purposes I ended up purchasing a purple jumpsuit & a pair of gorgeous earrings. I have yet to wear the jumpsuit because I want to have it altered but I’ve worn the earrings several times and I’ve gotten great feedback. Be sure to check out the links above for more details. Thanks for checking in…AV

Don’t you just love these earrings?

The Chic Hit the Fan-Baltimore

Let me tell you about my first visit to this charming little boutique that sits just off the corner of 25th street on Saint Paul street in Charles Village. Well, I was meeting up with a friend for cocktails and sushi in downtown Baltimore one evening. I stopped to pickup my younger sister and we were on our way. The weather was awesome the entire day but the temperature had managed to drop significantly enough for me to have wished I hadn’t worn a dress. We had been a bit early for once so I begged my sister to stop with me at the first boutique we saw on our way to the restaurant so that I could get a little jacket or sweater to keep warm…who knew that I would find a gem? There it was, The Chic Hit the Fan…cute right? This small boutique full of unique pieces and an awesomely friendly and helpful staff. I went in and immediately stated I needed something that was warm and that I was open to a compete outfit change if necessary. I looked at a few things but they all required a bra, of course on the day I didn’t wear one (doesn’t happen very often). The sales associate then showed me this gorgeous multicolored cropped knit sweater…perfect! Now all I needed was a nice pair of jeans or pants…I have a tough time finding jeans because I have a short torso, a booty, and long legs, confusing I know. I usually go for something low-rise to elongate my midsection. Well I was able to find a great pair of white jeans that actually complimented the sweater very well. I am not the biggest fan of white jeans but these made me look fabulous. So I walked out spending about $85 on a great sweater and a pair of fab fitting jeans.

While there I also noticed really cool jewelry and accessories and that alone would make me revisit this shop.

Be sure to check them out!
